Fall Out Boy at Escape Club.

Date: Friday, February 25th 2005
Venue: Escape Club in Swansea, Wales.
Time: 10pm door opens, 10:30pm gig start.
Price: 4 pounds.
Bands: Fall Out Boy w/ Spitalfield + My Awesome Compilation.

After a 45-minute train ride delay, microwaved cheese & tomato pizza, a walk in deserted high street, i finally was in the the second row of the mosh pit, waiting for the first opening act to play. Most shots are central because i couldn't move my arms to the sides as i was squished to the maximum. The venue is pretty small.

The Leicester-based band, My Awesome Compilation took the stage at first, belting out tunes that though not a lot of people knew the words too, it got them to jump/dance along. A good performance, got the crowd hyped up because they were all very dancy.

Spitalfield took over the stage next. With a growing fanbase in the UK, many were singing along with them. Brought about an okay perfomance, got their fans happy, that's for sure.

Chicago's Fall Out Boy came last and just as they played the first note, the mosh pit went crazy. Bassist, Pete, couldn't be there due to some health problems so Spitalfield's bassist took over for him, he did well on the job. Couldn't get any pics of the other band members, either the outcome was too dark or blurry because everyone was pushing at the time. They played almost every song in 'Take This To Your Grave' and an electric-guitar version of 'Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner' from their acoustic EP 'My Heart Will Always Be The B-Side To My Tongue'. Pat's voice, at times, could rarely be heard because everyone was singing/shouting/screaming along to most of the songs. It was nice how Pat was being very interactive with the crowd, everyone seemed to be enjoying the set.

Free samplers of Spitalfield's new album were given out during the gig. That's also a CD that people should check out. The gig ended at around midnight, the bands were hanging out and meeting fans in the club after that. There was also an aftershow party upstairs that i didn't have time to check out but overall, i had a great time. I think everyone left the venue satisfied that their 4 pounds weren't wasted away.
