Music Recommendations Week 31/01/2005

Music i'm listening to this week, mostly old emo stuff.

Something Corporate - North

Something Corporate is probably in every emo kid's mp3/CD/cassette player but it isn't really their fault, some tracks are pretty damn good. In this album, lead singer, Andrew McMahon, kicks it with his piano and the rest of the band did quite an impressive job, too. Listen to the added bonus tracks of this album HERE. Good emo songs to make out to :)

Favourite track: #5 Me & The Moon

Mae - Destination: B-sides (Yah, the album cover is intentionally made to look like that shown above)

This album's acoustic songs are my top repeats. It's pretty chill to listen to if you just want to lay back and relax. If you like Death Cab For Cutie, you probably would like them. Check out the song, Tisbury Lane, it's to the death cab kind of music. I like the lead singer's voice. Destination: B-sides also features live tracks.

Favourite track: #2 Suspension

Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism

For five months, I pronounced 'Transatlanticm' as 'Transatlanti-cism' until i bought the album and asked Anna how it was pronounced (that's 'Transatlantic-ism'). An album i don't regret buying. This also falls under the category of my must-haves. Again, this album is nice to hear if you just want to chill at home or anywhere. Best line i've heard from a new year song that contradicts everything new year (resolutions, a new you, blablabla): "so this is the new year and i don't feel any different" (Taken from the song 'The New Year').
